Earlier this year, breakout alternative/indie/emo infused outfit Better Off released what is, hands down, one of the best local (and national) records of the year, Milk. Helmed by producer Arun Bali (of Saves the Day fame and also Nashville based), the Equal Vision Records release showcases the group’s expanded range, eclectic musicianship, and matured thematic focus, helping them rise to global prominence, and solidifying their status as one of the punk-leaning indie rock world’s most promising new acts. Directed by Mutemath drummer Darren King (another local transplant), the band’s first video in support of their sophomore effort arrived last week for standout track “Dresser Drawer,” and brings to life the memorable visual of the LP’s cover art, juxtaposed with the song’s more serious lyrical focus.
