The Shadowboxers-620

Newish to Nashville soul pop trio, The Shadowboxers are wrapping a residency at The Basement East on Friday Dec. 18 with blog faves Alanna Royale.  It’s a perfectly paired, dance worthy bill, and we are giving you a chance to win a pair of tickets to catch this one for free.  Head below to find out more about the acts, and to enter to win.

THE SHADOWBOXERS

Originally hailing from Atlanta, the soul pop outfit, The Shadowboxers, have been calling Nashville home of late, and they have deservingly been popping up on bills all over town since landing in Music City.  First founded in 2008 by Adam Hoffman (vocals, guitars), Matt Lipkins (vocals, keyboards) and Scott Schwartz (vocals, guitars), their sound is so much bigger than a trio.  It’s clear to hear that they have drawn inspiration from everyone from Paul Simon to The Beatles to John Mayer to Dawes, as their style dips from straight pop to rocking compositions to harmonized soul jams that keep you on your toes in more way than one.  After releasing their debut full length in 2013, here’s to hoping that the fellas stick around Nashville long enough to drop another gem on us.

ALANNA ROYALE

You’ve clearly heard us run off at the mouth about Alanna Royale, probably as much as you’ve heard front woman Alanna Quinn Broadus run off at the mouth at their always entertaining live shows.  The all powerful local soul rock sextet has been hard at work in the studio putting together a follow up to their standout debut LP, Achilles.  This is their last show of 2015, and it’s guaranteed to be a good time.  Head out to dance, and send them off to finalize a follow up album for us!
