If you only know Canadian indie pop starlet Carly Rae Jepsen for her breakout 2011 hit “Call Me Maybe,” and haven’t yet spent time with her latest effort E•MO•TION, you’re sorely missing out. Adopting a more mature, electropop sound not dissimilar from indie staples like CHVRCHES, Jepsen’s new LP is essentially a love-letter to the ’80s, even one-upping Taylor Swift’s similarly synthed-out, retro-leaning 1989. A surprise contender for one of the year’s best albums, we’ve been patiently waiting for Carly to announce her tour plans, and today she finally did just that. Shockingly, the singer is set to play the 1,000-cap Cannery Ballroom on March 14, her second Music City outing ever following a 2013 Bridgestone show supporting Justin Bieber. The space seems unbelievably small for her mainstream appeal, and tickets are all but guaranteed to sell out. Grab yours beginning Thursday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. CST right here (use code ‘EMOTION’), or risk missing out on what will surely be one of 2016’s best pop shows. Seriously you guys, the new record is stuffed with bangers. Check out the video below if you don’t believe us.
