Two of pop punk’s most promising up and coming acts, State Champs and Neck Deep, are teaming up with Alternative Press Magazine for a co-headlining spring tour, along with Knuckle Puck and Like Pacific, which returns them to Nashville March 3 for a show at Rocketown. Both State Champs and Neck Deep have passed through Music City in recent months in supporting slots, the former with The Wonder Years and the latter with All Time Low and Sleeping with Sirens, and both released celebrated sophomore albums in 2015. Channeling the best of early ’00s radio friendly pop punk, all of the acts on this tour take a decidedly more upbeat, energetic, and radio-geared approach than some of their more emo-inspired contemporaries, yet manage to avoid the artificiality and homogenization that bogged down the scene in the later years. Live, they’re a ton of fun, and represent the best and most promising of the current crop of young rock bands, definitely worthy of your attention if you haven’t kept a close eye on the pop punk scene in recent years. An all ages event, tickets for this one go on sale Friday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. CST right here.
