Sadly (in this writer’s opinion) Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr has dropped the Nascar reference, and shortened their name to simply Jr Jr, but the rebranding won’t effect their synthy danceable indie rock sounds. Those of you who have read No Country for long know that this band was partially responsible for our humble beginnings, after a barely attended show at The Basement in 2011. Needless to say, the Detroit rockers have continued to rise in the indiesphere, and have just announced a new summery synthy single, “Gone,” which reminds us just why we fell in love with these quirky musicians in the first place.
Check out the new single below, and mark your calendar for October 22nd, when the band rolls through Mercy Lounge with Hippo Campus. Tickets are $15, and you can grab those right here.
