It’s been a relatively quiet couple of years for Beach House, the Baltimore based dream pop duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, who exploded onto the indie scene during the lo-fi/dreamy/shoegazey/chillwave renaissance nearly a decade ago, with their unbelievable eponymous debut. A near-perfect trio of followups – Devotion, Teen Dream, and Bloom – would cement their legacy and set them well above their peers, and, though the sonic landscape has changed quite a bit since the group’s last LP, we have no doubt that their newly announced fifth album, Depression Cherry, promising a return to simplicity, will be every bit as phenomenal. Set to drop Aug. 28, the band will hit the road this fall in support of the album, and will return to Nashville Oct. 4 for a performance at The Ryman Auditorium. As you may recall, Beach House’s 2012 show at Marathon landed high on our year end lists, and in a space like The Ryman, this is sure to be every bit as epic. Grab your tickets when they go on sale this Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. CDT (pre-sale begins one day prior with the code ‘BLOOM’), or prepare to live in perpetual regret.
