Secret Stages 2015-620

Last year, we got hip to Birmingham, Alabama’s premiere taste making festival, Secret Stages, and their fresh and eclectic lineup in the heart of B-ham’s historic loft district.  This year, we’re stoked about another round for their fifth anniversary on July 31 and Aug. 1. This walking pub-crawl style festival has featured some of our favorites, including Shovels & Rope, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Dawes, Futurebirds, and Lydia Loveless, and, last year, they packed the bill full of Nashville faves like Adia Victoria, All Them Witches, Promised Land Sound, Pujol and more.

Needless to say, after our experience last year, we are excited to see what year 5 brings.  The initial round of bands for 2015 includes Sweet Crude (New Orleans, LA), Dasher (Atlanta, GA), Landlady (Brooklyn, NY), Twin Limb (Louisville, KY), Temperance League (Charlotte, NC), TONE (Washington, DC), Eleven Year Old (Birmingham, AL), The Vibe Doctors (Jackson, MS), Bonnie Montgomery (Little Rock, AR), and Tonk (Raleigh, NC). As you can tell, this is a great opportunity to get a first glimpse at the wide array of up and coming Southeastern talent, but it’s only just beginning.  Secret Stages is set to release another wave of bands every Tuesday between now and the festival date, and we’re just sure there is going to be a caravan of bands heading south from Nashville. Interested yet? We thought so.  Go ahead and secure your passage here, and keep up with all the festival updates at their social links below.
