Prolific Canadian hardcore outfit Fucked Up have been releasing 12″ singles inspired by the Chinese calendar as part of their Zodiac series for nearly a decade now, and, in support of their upcoming Year of the Hare, due out June 16, they’re hitting the road for the first time ever for a Zodiac themed tour, where they’ll perform a few different expansive songs from the seven-part series each night, many for the first time live. For this run, Fucked Up have expanded their lineup to include members of DOOMSQUAD, bringing their ranks to nine, in order to cover the more expansive, experimental nature of the tracks (as opposed to their more typical aggressive hardcore). Nearly a year to the date from their last Music City outing, the group will return to Nashville July 5, for an extra special performance at Third Man Records. While we wait for ticket info to arrive, enjoy Year of the Hare b-side “California Cold,” an epic, psychedelic tinged jam which premiered this morning on Stereogum.
