There’s a new festival in town, and it’s a doozy. Joining the countless regional options that already seem piled on thicker than ever this summer, the inaugural Sloss Music & Arts Festival in Birmingham, Alabama, presented by AC Entertainment (who also have a hand in Bonnaroo and Forecastle) and Red Mountain Entertainment, has unveiled its 2015 lineup. The fest, which runs Saturday, July 18 though Sunday, July 19 at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark, boasts a lineup of Modest Mouse, Cage the Elephant, Tyler the Creator, Purity Ring and more, plus Nashville acts Sturgill Simpson and Blank Range, with more artists, including another headliner, still to be announced. Tickets come in a variety of packages, and start at a reasonable $105, making this yet another highly attractive (and easily drivable) choice in what’s shaping up to be a busy summer.
