RecordStoreDay-620

Since 2007, Record Store Day has been like Christmas for music nerds; a celebration (and special release occasion) of all things vinyl and champion for local, independent shops. And, while the annual event has been spun off to include a Black Friday edition, it’s the spring RSD proper that still garners the most attention. This year, it’ll take place Saturday, April 18, and, continuing the tradition of naming an official ambassador for the event, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been announced to oversee it. Below, take a look at a list of local shops set to participate (the list of special releases has yet to be announced), and check out a video of Grohl musing on the power and importance of local record shops. Dave and the Foos will be at Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 5, but, unfortunately, it’s already sold out!
