December is the month where media and individuals alike begin to reflect on the year as it comes to a close, and, in many cases, to do so in ranked and itemized list form. Lists are all the rage on the internet these days, and, because every media outlet ever seems to be scrambling to let their “Best of 2014” picks be known (keep an eye out for ours soon), it’s inevitable that tons of Nashville talent will litter countless music lists. While we have not the time nor the energy to spotlight all of the local acts who receive props, one in particular happened to catch our eye today: in their ranking of “The 25 Best Live Acts of 2014,” digital tastemakers Paste Magazine named Nashville’s own Diarrhea Planet their number one pick (locals Those Darlins clocked in as well, at #24). Sure, we’ve all known for awhile that DP’s live show is an unparalleled force to be reckoned with, but it’s nice to see the national press finally nodding in agreement. In case you haven’t seen Paste’s favorite live act in the flesh as of yet, you can correct that Dec. 30 and/or 31 at Exit/In. Details here.
