Alright, alright, we know fall just started, but, if you’re the type who likes to plan ahead, we’ve got one hell of a Valentine’s Day (that’s Feb. 14) show option for you. On the heels of a recent opening spot with Old Crow Medicine Show at Fontanel (and following a headliner earlier this year at Cannery), folk/alt-country duo Shovels & Rope have announced their first ever headlining performance at The Ryman (the pair previously played there in support of Dawes last summer). No strangers to Nashville (singer Cary Ann Hearst even grew up here), Shovels have blown us away time and time again, and their latest release, Swimmin’ Time, is one of our favorite records of the year. We know five months is a long way out to plan, but, with the buzz surrounding this band, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this one sell out, and can’t imagine a more perfect space to experience them live. You can grab tickets here next Friday, Oct. 3, beginning at 10 a.m., with a pre-sale set to take place one day prior.
