Bleachers-620

Bleachers, the new solo project from fun. (and formerly Steel Train) guitarist Jack Antonoff, have just released their debut album, Strange Desire, and, already, it’s one of our favorite records of 2014. Infectiously catchy and stadium-primed, Bleachers lets Antonoff’s guitar-laden pop tendencies run wild, landing in a territory that is distantly different from the band that made him famous (and not just due to his lower register than fun. bandmate and singer Nate Ruess). Since the somewhat surprise announcement of the project a few months back, Bleachers have found themselves on multiple festival lineups and television appearances, and are now primed to play a handful of shows, including an Oct. 29 date at Cannery Ballroom with Nashville’s own Wild Cub. Tickets officially go on sale this Friday, July 18, at 10 a.m right here, but you can snag ’em on presale beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the password ‘BETTER.’ Check out the band’s infectious debut single, “I Wanna Get Better,” below, and stream Strange Desires now on Spotify.
