Our pals Wells Adams and Justin Hammel are getting old. 100 to be exact. Yes, folks this past Monday marked the 100th episode of their local radio hour, The 615, on Lightning 100, but, just because they are quirky dudes (or overworked like the rest of us), they are going to celebrate with you for the 101st episode this coming Monday (June 9th). After their live broadcast of the 101st episode of The 615 from William Colliers, they are going to slide over to Marathon Music Works to bring you a FREE show with none other than The Weeks, Leagues, and Buffalo Clover.
We can’t think of a better way to kick off Bonnaroo week with a free show of that caliber. The 615 gets going live at 6:15pm, and we’d imagine you’ll be full on rocking by 8pm. You should listen to The 615 below for a full rundown of the evening’s events, AND some, per usual, kickass local music. Once you are finished with that, you can head below to check out some tracks from the artists of the evening. Happy 100th fellas…. we at No Country wish you many more to come.
THE WEEKS
We’re not sure how much longer we are going to be able to call The Weeks locals. They are on every festival bill we see, have a tour schedule that won’t quit, and are pretty much living on the road these days. That’s a good thing, Nashville; these guys deserve it. Most of you that are going to Bonnaroo later in the week will have the chance to check them out there, but you might was well get started a few days early because, if you aren’t hip to these southern dipped rockers yet, you’ve pretty much already missed the boat.
LEAGUES
Though Leagues calls Nashville home, they chose a rocket over a tour van to blast their way out of Music City. We’ve had glimpses of their success in returns since, with their Cannery sized homecoming, or their absolutely sick set at Live On The Green last summer. Needless to say, Leagues don’t offer many opportunities to jam with their over the top, infectiously catchy electro rock around town, and certainly not for free. Get out to see why these guys are in the “Spotlight.”
BUFFALO CLOVER
We’re driving the Buffalo Clover bandwagon around town these days. Fronted by the insanely talented Margo Price and her husband Jeremy Ivey, Buffalo Clover have made the Nashville rounds. We’ve offered up plenty of chances to join in on the hub bub, but, if you haven’t seen them yet, this will be a good chance for you to get acquainted before the band release a full-length studio album AND a live album cut straight out of The 5 Spot later this summer. You may have already missed the boat on the first two acts of the night, but don’t make it a trifecta. Get there early, and be amazed at the Southern Rock n’ Soul sounds of Buffalo Clover.
The 615 will air live at 6:15pm, Monday, June 9, at William Colliers, and the show featuring The Weeks, Leagues, and Buffalo Clover happens afterward at Marathon Music Works. The show is 18+ and just walk up to get in because this one is FREE!
