Jennifer Sullivan

Just like last year and the year before, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with as many bands as we can from Bonnaroo‘s impressive 2014 lineup. In addition to main stage acts, we also want to be sure to give the Club Stage bands some love, so, for the next month or so, we’re adding a second daily spotlight. They might be the smallest artists on Bonnaroo’s bill, but the Club Stage bands are some of the best and most exciting up and coming acts around. As with our main stage previews, we’ll start from the bottom and work our way up. Keep reading for your Bonnaroo Club Stage Band of the Day…

LEARN

New York singer-songwriter Jennifer Sullivan funnels the big city and the country into one with her music, and will surely entrance the fans of Nora Jones and the like to the front of her stage.  It’s a relaxed throw-back sound that will appeal to most, but the easy jazz vocals over trad country instrumentation will immediately feel like home to fans of Nashville’s Family Wash.  You can hear every bit of the passion in her debut album, Somethin’ New, that dropped earlier this year.

There is no way that an act like Jennifer Sullivan could be placed anywhere other than a club stage in the afternoon, and it may just provide a perfect break from your typical Bonnaroo shenanigans (read: Skrillex superjam).  Get to know a bit of Jennifer Sullivan below, and see if you can figure out where the perfect spot would be to insert a scat.
