Third Man Record honcho and vinyl enthusiast extraordinaire, Jack White has released the details of the Ultra LP version of his upcoming sophomore solo release Lazaretto. We already told you about the four hour turn around on the title track during a world record performance on Record Store Day, but we wouldn’t have imagined all of the stops that they pulled out for the Ultra LP. The record features inside-out playback with a locked groove that infinitely repeats on the outside, under label grooves, dual groove track intros featuring both acoustic and electric before blending into a single groove, dual vinyl finishes, and… wait for it, a hologram!
Third Man is already taking pre-orders for the Ultra LP here, so you can be one of the first to have it after the June 9th release date. Jack White has a busy summer ahead including performances at Bonnaroo and Forecastle Festival. Two summer treats for those of us in the area. In the meantime, watch the YouTube video of Jack and Third Man’s Ben Blackwell describing the album’s features below.
