Well over a year after her debut album, Til the Casket Drops, was released by Hollywood Records, ZZ Ward is still riding high off of her latest hauntingly catchy hit single, “Last Love Song.” Of course, hugely popular singles are nothing new for this album. We knew she was legit when we heard last summer’s alternative, bluesy, pop-rock anthem “365 Days,” and we were immediately hooked when Ward first blew up with infectious breakout hit “Put the Gun Down.” Considering how often we have been hearing her on the radio over the last two years, it seems inevitable that 2014 will be ZZ’s biggest year yet.
The Pacific Northwestern blues rock diva was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, but moved to Roseburg, Oregon as a child and now reps the region on her various tours. Her more polished Amy Winehouse vocals over blues rifts and piano has set her apart from her contemporaries, so be sure to have a taste below. She’s also played Conan, Leno, and Good Morning America. Strictly based on TV spots alone, she is officially a big deal… not bad for a singer who’s only 27! The sky seems to be the limit for this sultry soul maven as she continues hre pleasent plots for US and then World domination. See Ward in action BEFORE she becomes a household name.
