Something special is going on at the Exit/In tonight and you better be there. Lagunitas Brewing Company is bringing their signature fusion beers, couches from their loft, girls from the Music City Burlesque and of course – good live music. What’s the catch? Nothing! This big party is even FREE. Yep, you read that right, FREE. Come out and listen to Austin’s own Shakey Graves, Nashville’s own Those Darlins and David Mayfield Parade. All you have to do is RSVP here and show up at 8pm tonight. But before you go, read about these killer bands after the jump.
SHAKEY GRAVES
Ah, Shakey Graves. The best one man show I’ve yet to see. Standing on stage with a kick drum made from an old suitcase, a tambourine on the other foot, and some wild finger picking, it won’t take long before your stomping along as well. Born and raised in Texas, his lyrics and music tell stories of a man on the run throughout the country. He even has a day named after him. February 9th has been deemed Shakey Graves Day in Austin, TX. Seriously, what more proof do you need this guy is the real deal? Not only is his music beyond killer, he involves the crowd. At my first Shakey Graves show, he told stories, asked questions, and kept us listening. All of which – combined with unique beers, is something you don’t want to miss!
THOSE DARLINS
At this point, if you keep up with No Country, you should know all about Nashville’s own Those Darlins. We’ve brought you everything from their racy album release of Blur The Line, new music video releases, and we’ve even gave away tickets to their previous shows. Fresh off tour with No Country faves, Diarrhea Planet, Those Darlins are giving Nashville one more chance to see them (for free!) before they hit the road to Bonnaroo in early June. Their garage rock grunge and feminine aspect are pushing the boundaries and bringing them well deserved success. Check out their newest single below.
DAVID MAYFIELD PARADE
Orginally from Ohio, David Mayfield Parade resides in Nashville. This group not only wants to share their passion for Americana and Roots music but also share their belief in true entertainment. Their songwriting and musicianship is incredible and worth getting their early to see.
Shakey Graves, Those Darlins, and David Mayfield Parade will perform Feb. 27 at Exit/In. The show is 21+, begins at 9pm (doors at 8pm), and tickets are available for FREE after you RSVP.
