Between nabbing their biggest critical and commercial success to date with last year’s Heartthrob (propelled by massive hit “Closer”), touring endlessly with the likes of acts such as fun. and Paramore, appearing in commercials, landing the theme song for a major movie, and more, all within the past year, it’s safe to say that Canadian duo Tegan and Sara have transcended the indie rock world. The ladies are taking some time between a cruise with Paramore and a support run with Katy Perry this year to finally play some headlining dates, and, good news: they’ll hit Nashville’s Marathon Music Works on May 12, supported by Lucius and The Courtneys.
Though the group passed through Music City last fall with fun., by the time this show rolls around, over four years will have passed since their last proper Nashville headliner. With all of their recent success and newfound mainstream popularity, this one seems like a sure-thing to sell out, so nab your tickets quick when they go on sale this Friday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m., or grab pre-sale tickets tomorrow, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. (with the code ‘PHYSICAL’).
