It’s East Nashville Underground week, and the mayhem that is underground is rapidly approaching! We got you started yesterday with the 8 off 8th Preview Party over at The High Watt. Now, it is time to get in the mood for the upcoming weekend’s festivities. This weekend’s summer session will be the last ENU in its current form, so let’s send this thing off with a bang. ENU takes place this Friday and Saturday, August 16th and 17th, and tickets for single sessions or the entire weekend are available right here.
We have previews of all the bands performing on Friday night after the jump. Get in the mood for Underground.
THE JAG
The JAG are making waves here in Nashville, and definitely been telling you about these guys for quite a while now. This is how we want to get this party started. Rock n’ f***ing Roll. Be ready. Swill beer. Act a fool (responsibly), and let it all go.
PLASTIC VISIONS
Cage the Elephant off-shoot project, Plastic Visions, has gotten a lot of national attention since they burst on the scene earlier this year, but there’s more to this outfit than CTE guitarist, Brad Shultz. Kane Stewart, formerly of The Sex Bombs, is one hell of a performer, and Plastic Visions are putting a bit of the indie back in Alt Rock.
TIPPER WHORE
We spent some time yapping about that playful new video from Tipper Whore sometime back, but there is a lot more to this poppy rock band. Don’t underestimate a band whose lyrics can make you laugh even more than their name. Solid choice.
RI¢HIE
Fresh off his appearance down at Bonnaroo this summer, Ri¢hie is ready to blow up in Nashville. You can have a listen to his newest track that dropped last month below.
RANCH GHOST
Another Bonnaroo band on the little ENU festival lineup, Ranch Ghost took the second Road To Bonnaroo event with some interesting stage antics (they played behind a giant flag for the first two songs) and killer rock riffs. We’ve been seeing Ranch Ghost shows since Day 1 of No Country, and they continue to improve with every show.
STAGOLEE
Ah, Stagolee. Bringing the bluesy soul rock in to usher us out of day 1 of ENU. Better switch to water after the headliners to maintain the stamina to see this one out.
