Unless you are currently living under a rock, then you surely know that the Americana Music Festival is going on right now in Nashville. We’ve rounded up some of the best non-americana stuff that is going on this weekend below. It’s another amazing weekend of shows here in Nashville, so get out and see some live music!
Friday
Andrew eloquently explained his love for Metric who are playing at The Ryman tonight.
Built To Spill brings their 90’s indie rock pioneering sound to Exit/In, and that is where you will find me. They bring Helvetiva & Sister Crayon on stage with them. The show starts at 9pm, and it is sold out. Where there is a will, there is a way…
One of our summer favorites, The Buddies will be making the trek from Chicago to perform at The Zombieshop along with Phil Hummer & The White Falcons and The Maloney’s. Things get started around 8pm, and tickets are around $5. The link to that event is here.
Saturday
Andrew is pretty stoked about Beach House over at Marathon Music Works, and I’m right there with him. The show starts with Dustin Wong at 9pm, and tickets are still available here. Check in tomorrow for our post on that one!
Sam Bush, Hoots & Hellmouth, and Charlie Faye, Ella Mae Bowen (acoustic) and Carolina Story (acoustic) are playing Musician’s Corner in Centennial Park for free on Saturday afternoon starting around 3pm. Sam Bush was one of my Bonnaroo highlights this past year. For anything Sam lacks in mandolin virtuosity, he completely makes up for festive creativity. This should be a very fun afternoon activity for ya. You can also spend some time with Nashville’s Carolina Story, and you can have a listen to their new single “Gold” right here.
You also have the East-Centric Music Festival that is happening in East Nashville from 11am until 9pm. The lineup for that one includes musical performances by Declan McGarry, Alanna Royale, Kin Ship, Amy McCarley, Jesse Lafser, Kate Tucker, Mockingbyrd, Josh Farrow, Anne McCue & the Soft Parade, and tHE HEARTs IN LIGHt. You can find out more information about that one right here.
Sunday
The hipster-rific way to finish our your weekend would be with chillwave extrodinaires Washed Out at Mercy Lounge. I’m half expecting to finalize my move to Portland after vibing out with his theme song from the city inspired TV show. Locals Hanzelle just sent out a tweet that they are going to be opening that thing up too. The show starts at 8pm, and you can grab tickets here. Ahhhh, Portland!
Frances and the Foundation, Natural Outlaw, and Kate Tucker are taking over Sunday School at The End. This one gets started around 7pm, and it is FREE!!!
Rumors are also swirling that their may be a Wanda Jackson performance at The 5 Spot around 9pm on Sunday. We’ll put up another post later this weekend with more details, as we get them.
