Hopefully, you didn’t blow it out last night at Dan Deacon, and you saved just a bit of yourself for tonight. There are a few of shows going on that you should hear about. Get out and see some live music!
First off is a “blues-inspired” night over at The End (yeah, didn’t know that was possible either from our perpetual house of grunge) with Melon & The Mayhem, Jo’shua Odine, and 3 Birds. You can check out what I mean by “blues-inspired” with the tracks from Melon and Jo’shua below. Things get started around 9pm, and tickets are $5.

If you are needing more rock n’ roll stylings for the night, then I would recommend Hotel War, Two Bit Charlie, Calicocat and Crybaby over at The High Watt. You can check out the opening track off of Hotel War’s Rebels Out Of Time EP below, along with “Fly Away” by Two Bit Charlie, “Whatever” by Calicocat, and this darling, shaky video of Crybaby performing at The Zombie Shop. Tickets are $7 right here, and things get started around 9pm.

Finally, if you are out on the west side of town, it might be worth it to head over to the Loveless Cafe Barn for a night with Chris Thomas King, Uncle Lucius, Folk Soul Revival, Sam Lewis ft. Kenny Vaughan. You can read the full scoop of the night over at the Music City Roots website, and you can grab your $10 tickets here. I’ll leave you with one last clip of Chris Thomas King performing in the movie Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Surely, Clooney’s character is contemplating his hair in this clip.
