The news came out the other day that of Montreal was moved from Cannery Ballroom up to Mercy Lounge. I wonder if that is going to spawn some wild shenanigans out of the Athens-bred popsters of Montreal. They are out in support of their new record, Paralytic Stalks, and seem to be making their annual pilgrimage to the Music City. You can read up on our post of their show last summer.
The big difference in this one is that Kishi Bashi won’t be there in support… though, you can check that out at Marathon on July 16th. They will have of Montreal side project Yip Deceiver & Brooklyn-based garage pop, Chappo (which I am digging on right now… go ahead, have a listen to their 2011 release below). Tickets are $18 and things get started around 9pm. Get out and see some live music tonight.
