Surely we all know about Jack White’s two night run at The Ryman coming up in mid May, and that he is bringing Nashville faves Alabama Shakes along with him. Obviously, this is going to be a hard ticket to get, so I thought I would fill you in on the ticketing instructions before they go on sale.
Tickets go on sale at all outlets starting on Friday, March 23rd (that’s tomorrow) at noon. You can order your tickets either in person or through Ticketmaster. Those that want to buy the tickets in person head down to The Ryman box office or to an authorized outlet. Starting one hour before sale time (that’s 11 am), you will receive a “lottery” ticket, and then “lottery” ticket numbers will be drawn at random to determine the place in line (note from The Ryman, having a lottery ticket number does not guarantee you a concert ticket, just a place in line). According to the fine folks at The Ryman: This is to discourage camping out or showing up too early to buy tickets. If you show up after 11:45am, you will not be issued a ticket for the lottery, and will have to get at the end of the line.
Now, what if you just want to buy these tickets online (for Tuesday May 15 or Wednesday May 16) , you might ask… do you still have the same chance as those folks that are standing in line? According to the email I got from The Ryman, there are not a certain number of tickets set aside for online sales. All tickets over the phone, online, outlets, and box office are sold through Ticketmaster from the same allotment.
So, what does this mean? Unless you are unemployed and like standing in lines, I would say that you get your wife, kids, mistress, mother, and dog to log in to try to get you some coveted tickets. What happens if you all score tickets to the show? Easy, you instantly become the most popular guy on your block.
Set your alarms now, and good luck to you all.
