2012 Bonnaroo Rumors updated: The Beach Boys announce reunion

We had a pretty popular post a couple of weeks ago about rumors of headliners for the 2012 edition of Bonnaroo.  We touched upon some of the possibilities including Radiohead, Black Sabbath, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Raconteurs, Foo Fighters, and lots and lots more…  One of the responses that I got from a contributor was that he wanted to see the Beach Boys.  I’d heard rumblings about a Beach Boys reunion, but for some reason I never really put it all together.

That reader got me hoping, and the news today from Brian Wilson has me really thinking about it.  The Beach Boys are getting back together for a 50th anniversary tour that will kick off in April at the New Orleans Jazz Fest.  They are also in the works to put together a new record, and you can bet they are going to reissue every record they have ever made as well.  You can read more about the reunion over at Pitchfork, and then you can join me in thinking… will the Beach Boys be a Bonnaroo headliner in 2012?
