There’s not a whole lot going on tonight, and you practically need a canoe to get out of your house.  But, I bet you can get the best spot at the bar and front row to any show you chose tonight.  Sometimes you have to brave the elements to have a good time.  So, let me give you something to do tonight In Nashville…

I talked about the Kopecky Family Band when I was running down Bonnaroo artists (that seems forever ago), and briefly touched on The Cadillac Black during our coverage leading up to Soundland.

Kopecky Family Band is a Nashville based folk/pop band that has garnered national attention over the past few years especially after their CMJ set which caught the eye of NPR Music’s Bob Boilen.  I guess that was enough for Bob and co. to bring the Kopecky Family in for one of their acclaimed Tiny Desk Concerts.  You can check the TDC video along with their 2008 debut EP Embraces below.

This free ASCAP presents show gets started at 9pm with openers The Cadillac Black and Colorfeels.  The Cadillac Black just sound ALL NASHVILLE.  I didn’t get the chance to see them at Soundland this past year, but I heard from a quite a few that they put on one hell of a show.  If you are into some good old fashioned Southern rock, then you’ll want to make sure you are there in time for these guys.  Check out their Soundcloud page to hear a bit.

I think the Colorfeels might have a chance to make some waves outside of Nashville soon.  A project of Brentwood, TN fellas Parker Cason and Justin Maurer, Colorfeels has recently released their debut record SYZYGY, and have been opening for various sets around town.  I’ll be honest, this is the first time that I have had a chance to sit down with SYZYGY, and I must admit… I’m intrigued.  I really dig the sounds that are coming out of these guys, and will be interestested to see where they end up.  I’ve attached a bandcamp player below with the entire SYZYGY record.  Check it out.

It’s gonna be a fun night out in Nashville, even if you have to swim to the venue.  Get out and see some live music.
