Properly topped.

Take a look at the cover art of the album that spawned the Bonnaroo name. Same colors and design and that hat is unmistakable. Quite an homage to Dr. John.

My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire were absolutely amazing, but I was really here to see more of the smaller bands. The highlights of day one were Ben Sollee, Freelance Whales, Matt & Kim, and GIVERS, but they were all topped by an unannounced 1:30am Deer Tick set of only Nirvana covers. Awesome!

I took a bunch of videos (ala, Bob Boylan’s one minute videos from SXSW) that I’ll get up on vimeo or something when I get back to the land of Internet and air conditioning.
