Nashville’s own Kopecky Family Band has been a family on fire for the past couple of years. After the release of their first EP, Embraces, in 2008, the band started touring. They blew away the Next Big Nashville Music Festival in the fall of 2009, then SXSW in the spring of 2010, followed by reaching numerous ears at the CMJ festival (including NPR, and All Song’s Considered’s Bob Boilen’s – see his 1 minute video below). In 2010, following all of the excitement, the band returned to the studio to release a 7-song record called The Disaster (in August) followed by a “b-side release” called Of Epic Proportion (in October).
The ‘Family’ is now back on the road touring through the southeast. They will be returning to Nashville on June 1st to appear at Music City Roots. They will also be playing Bonnaroo on Thursday, June 9th at the Solar Stage from 2 to 3pm.
You can download a copy of the band’s Embraces EP over at their bandcamp site. You can hear plenty of their music at their facebook page, and, of course, at the Bonnaroo website.
