San Francisco based noise punks Deerhoof have been bringing us their interesting high octane and higher volume mixture of avant garde, punk tinged, noise pop for over 20 years now, and they just released their 14th record, The Magic, which has been gaining acclaim from across the spectrum. We brought you their single “Plastic Thrills” when they announced the record and upcoming tour, which brings them to Nashville’s Mercy Lounge on Aug. 10. As the band continued the lead up to the release, they dropped a really cool Joe Baughman directed stop motion animation video for “The Devil and his Anarchic Surrealist Retinue,” and followed that up with an almost humorous, karaoke-ish, take on Def Leppard’s 80s hair metal classic, “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” You can have a listen to that below, while you are grab your $12 tickets to the show.
