As we told you back in early March, Kopecky’s sophomore album, Drug for the Modern Age, drops today. In addition, the Nashville-based indie rock band will be embarking on a nationwide tour, which kicks off today with a free, all ages in-store at Grimey’s this afternoon and a hometown release show later tonight at The Basement. Buy a CD or vinyl at the in-store for a free ticket to the release show! Keep reading for all the details.

KOPECKY

No Country has been singing the praises of the band formerly known as the Kopecky Family Band for years. The band formed in 2007 when its founders, Kelsey Kopecky and Gabe Simon, met while attending Belmont University. After three EP’s, a few shake ups and months of touring, the band released their debut album, Kids Raising Kids, in 2012. Soon after, they signed with ATO Records who re-released the album, which received much critical praise and featured the radio hit “Heartbeat”.

The new album explores such life-altering events as the sudden loss of a loved one, divorce, and struggles with addiction, along with more joyful happenings like new love and marriage. Check out the Dating Game themed official music video for “Quarterback”, the first single from the album.

Kopecky will perform a free, all ages in-store at Grimey’s today at 6:00 pm and an album release show downstairs at The Basement.  The Basement show is 21+, and begins at at 9pm. Tickets are available at Grimey’s or at the door for $10, or you can get a free ticket with purchase of the album.
