Wanna get your fancy on tonight? C’mon hipster… take off that hoodie, dust off your Easter best, and get out to support some local artists tonight in Nashville.
We talked a little about the concept of RAW Nashville a while back, but to rephase… RAW is a national independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives from all facets, and provides them with the tools, resources, and exposure they need to cultivate the creativity and inspiration to obtain the recognition they deserve. The organization represents the visual arts, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup, photography, models, and performing arts.
Tonight is the finals of the Nashville chapter of RAW’s competition. Since this blog is concerned with Nashville music, I’ll focus on that aspect. Acts will include rising African American female country signer Joy Styles, piano popster Justin Nault, alt rockers Black Market Research, bass wizard Scott Fernandez, and live performance soul rock monsters Girls and Money. The winner will be decided tonight, and they will represent Nashville in an upcoming national RAW Showcase.
Remember, it’s cocktail attire, so retire that ratty JEFF The Brotherhood t-shirt for the night, and head on over to Mercy Lounge. Things get started around 8pm, and it’ll cost you $20 at the door. Get out and support your local arts!
