A longtime punk scene favorite, Four Year Strong helped popularize the “easycore” sound of the 2000s, fusing pop punk hooks and melodies with hardcore riffs and breakdowns. Over more than 20 years and across eight LPs, the group have cemented themselves as one of the scene’s most enduring acts, remaining a favorite at a time millennial pop punk nostalgia is at an all-time high. Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, FYS quickly rose to prominence after their 2007 sophomore album Rise of Die Trying, and would spend the next several years becoming one of the most celebrated bands of the MySpace and Warped Tour heyday, touring the world, and graduating, for awhile like many of their peers at the run of the 2010s, to major label status. Their output has slowed a bit over the last decade, but Four Year Strong continue to push sonic bounds and hone their sound, most recently with this year’s Analysis Paralysis, their first full-length since 2020, and a lean, riff-tastic distillation of the band at their best.
No strangers to Music City, Four Year Strong have supported acts like A Day to Remember (over the summer at Municipal Auditorium) and State Champs, played nearby pop punk festival BreakFEST, and headlined Eastside Bowl all just in the last few years, and Eastside Bowl is where they’ll once again return, when the band bring their latest headlining tour to town on Nov. 22! FYS alone would be a killer show, but the supporting lineup makes this one even more essential, with Nashville’s own emo and pop punk favorites Free Throw, Pennsylvania melodic hardcore outfit One Step Closer, and LA punk outfit Death Lens rounding out the bill. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan!
