Alt Pop Duo Magdalena Bay Bring The Imaginal Mystery Tour to Brooklyn Bowl Nashville with Nourished by Time Tonight, Sept. 25

Magdalena Bay‘s Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin first met as teens in their native Miami, bonding over shared musical influences and forming an early prog rock band. It was a few years later though, after reconnecting in college and eventually relocating to Los Angeles, that Magdalena Bay was born, pulling influences from synth-pop, alt-pop, psychedelia, electropop, shoegaze, EDM, disco, indie, and more, forging a pop-accessible, genre-bending, and wholly modern sound, and finding an enthusiastic initial following and online attention for a series of early EPs and mixtapes in 2019 and 2020, before drawing a wider audience and critical accolades for their 2021 debut LP, Mercurial World. DIY spirited, experimental, inventive, and unique, Magdalena Bay have quickly become an incredibly popular new artist, praised for their visual ethos, creative music videos, catchy and eclectic singles, and their engaging TikTok presence.

Just a few weeks ago, and following some buzzy new singles, the pair dropped their highly-anticipated sophomore album, Imaginal Disk, which builds on the electronic, alternative, genre-bending and conceptual ethos of Mercurial World, while further honing their sound and pushing their sonic limits, landing as their best and most critically-acclaimed work to date and one of 2024’s best albums. Praised for their immersive, visually-stunning live show, Magdalena Bay are currently in the midst of a tour in support, dubbed The Imaginal Mystery Tour, and they’re set to return to Nashville (for only the second time ever, following a 2022 debut at The Basement East) tonight, Sept. 25 at Brooklyn Bowl!
