Not a person, but a duo (a fact reinforced in a tongue-in-cheek way in the title of their 2022 debut LP, There Is No Neil Frances), LA electronic and beat-driven pop duo Neil Frances is the musical fusion of Sydney, Australia born Jordan Feller, who cut his teeth in the hip hop and electronic scene as a self-taught DJ and obsessively knowledgeable producer, and Southern California native Marc Gilfry, whose background was in playing in bands, and who brings an immense knack for hooks and melody to the duo’s sound. Though they met more than a decade ago, Neil Frances officially formed in 2016, after the pair relocated to Los Angeles, after a stint in New York and London, respectively. Honing an early sound that combines their eclectic musical backgrounds, Neil Frances combines modern elements of hip hop and electro pop, with retro synth-pop and dance grooves, ’90s rave music, indie and r&b melodies, with lush, harmonic layers and infectious hooks, all brought to together by their immersive and organic stage show.
After a buzzy string of early singles, Neil Frances released their debut EP, Took Awhile, in 2018, before further expanding their sound with last year’s aforementioned first full-length, and an ongoing run of singles and collabs. On Oct. 6, they’ll drop their collab-heavy, even more dance-primed sophomore LP, It’s All a Bit Fuzzy, and, out in support, they’re set to bring their acclaimed live show to Nashville’s own Eastside Bowl on Oct. 14! Tickets are still available right here, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan!
