Best known for fronting famed Australian jazz/funk outfit Hiatus Kaiyote, eclectic artist Naomi Saalfield, better known as Nai Palm, made her formal solo debut in 2017 with LP Needle Paw, a work that channels the jazzy and soulful sounds of her band while also exploring covers, more stripped-down instrumentation, indigenous collaboration and more raw and personal lyricism. Though she’s released another Hiatus Kaiyote album since (and even did an unlikely collaboration with superstar rapper Drake), and appears to still be quite busy with the band as her main gig, we anticipate more solo work from the multi-talented artist soon.
Nai doesn’t play a ton of solo shows though, and when she headlines Eastside Bowl this Saturday, May 6, it appears to the first time she’ll have done so in Nashville (the singer was just here last year for a full Hiatus Kaiyote show, however), which is a really special treat for fans of any of her work, and of adventurous, genre-bending music in general. Tickets are still available right here while they last, but we’re excited to announce that we’re also giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan! Enter below.
