If you’ve kept up with us for the past year, then you already understand our blog crush on Nashville (via Philadelphia) rocker Ron Gallo. If you meet him on the street his chill vibes are warming, but when you see him on the stage his fuzzed out guitars, intermittent microphone shrieks, and all around energy are enough to drive fans into a frenzy. Gallo is playing two shows this weekend in support of his fresh off the presses Heavy Meta, which dropped today, Feb. 3 via New West Records, including an free in-store warm up at Grimey’s at 6 p.m. on Friday and then a full blown release show at The High Watt on Saturday. The High Watt show will also feature performances from two of our favorite local rock outfits Thelma And The Sleaze and Reality Something, and tickets for the 9 p.m. show are still available for only $10.
With the release upon us, you can start enjoying Heavy Meta on your favorite streaming sites; download a copy at iTunes, Amazon, or Bandcamp; or, probably your best bet, grab a copy at your local record store. If you just absolutely need to listen right this second while you gather your credit card information, head below to check out the full stream, which premiered earlier this week on Noisey.
