You can still snag tickets for just $8, so secure your spot and read on for more about the lineup!
MAGNOLIA SONS
One of Nashville’s premiere live acts for several years running, retro soul rock outfit Magnolia Sons are helmed by the songwriting team of Austin Aguirre and Benjamin A. Harper, and often involve another 10+ guys and gals in their live lineup. Channeling the soul and energy of old Motown, and, undoubtedly, rocking a retro chic look which earns them the title of “most dapper band in Nashville,” Magnolia Sons are essentially a supergroup, and have impressed us time and time again in the numerous chances we’ve had to see them play. You might recognize the group’s explosive single “Baby That’s You,” which helped catapult them to local recognition, but the band have proven their sound and range to be more and more expansive with each release; you truly need to experience them live, and The BEast seems like the perfect spot to showcase their live energy and party-starting show.
JACOB JONES
Jacob Jones the creative professional, dance party curator, columnist, boutique label head, father, and man about town seems to have taken front seat to Jacob Jones the musician in recent years, so it’s an extra special treat to see the soulful, bluesy, retro rocker in action, for his first proper Music City outing in over two years. Jones’ 2013 effort Good Timin’ in Waynetown remains one of the most fun Nashville records in recent memory, but nothing compares to his feel good, dance-ready live presence; don’t miss out, because it might be awhile until you get another chance to see Jacob in concert.
BRONZI BLONDE
Funky, catchy, synth-laden, experimental, and weird, Bronzi Blonde are basically an instant, feel-good dance party. Relatively new to the scene, we haven’t had the chance to see these guys live yet, but if their tunes (and videos) are any indication, we’ve been sorely missing out. They’re a bit of sonic contrast to Mag Sons and Jacob, but they’ll get you just as pumped and ready to party.
RILEY ANGLEN
Hailing originally from East Tennessee, Riley Anglen draws influence from country, blues, bluegrass, gospel, rock, and soul, delivering an earnest, personal style that has earned him spots writing with a number of prominent artists. While not as conventionally dance-ready, Riley’s eclectic sound is well-honed enough to captivate your attention and kick off the night right.
Magnolia Sons, Jacob Jones, Bronzi Blonde, and Riley Anglen will perform tonight, Feb. 13 at The Basement East. The show is 21+, begins at 8:30 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.), and tickets are available for $8.
