With artists like Mac DeMarco and Real Estate currently at the forefront of festival lineups and record stores, surf rock has become an undeniable new indie sensation. Jelly are one of the latest acts to break into the genre, and just so happen to be local to Nashville. Made up of Will Aiken and Kyle Buckley, the group are strumming their way into the scene with jangly guitar tones, psychedelic riffs, and beachy melodies; their music is kicked back, their lyrics honest and accessible. Earlier this summer, the duo released their debut EP, Beach Sounds, a groovy four-track album that is short and sweet; something you would listen to on a happy, aimless Saturday afternoon or while on the beach. Our only regret? We didn’t discover it sooner, and make it summertime soundtrack. As fall fast approaches, we encourage you to get hip to this new local project; stream Beach Sounds below!
