The immense impact New York’s Television had on post-punk, new wave, and indie rock is immeasurable, and with only two albums (a third came later, after a break and subsequent reunion) under their belt, their legacy is all the more impressive, and one very few peers can claim. Though their current incarnation is short original guitarist Richard Lloyd (who departed in ’07), they’re more active than they’ve been in decades, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2013 with a healthy amount of touring.
Television’s latest run of shows will bring them to Nashville’s Marathon Music Works on March 31, giving you just enough time to revisit those old copies of Marquee Moon and Adventure, or to get into Television for the first time if you need to, because, let’s face it, even if you’re not familiar with them, your favorite band probably is. Tickets are on sale now for just $25 right here.
