Earlier today, when we told you about our ticket giveaway for Tuesday’s Wavves & FIDLAR show at Mercy Lounge, we mentioned that we’d be running a lot more giveaways over the next few weeks. Well, to prove we weren’t kidding, here’s another great show you can score tickets for!

Not only are Cold War Kids and Houses playing in the same building (albeit the larger room- Cannery Ballroom) as Wavves and FIDLAR, they’re also playing the same night, Tuesday, April 16. That’s right around the corner, so you only have until Monday at noon to enter for a chance to win tickets.

Free tickets aside, this is a show we’re incredibly excited for and you should be too! After the break, we’ve got music and more information on Cold War Kids and Houses, as well as contest instructions.

Music on Television | 4.1-4.6

Once again, we’re bringing you our roundup of the best live music on television for the week. The amount of great performances can be hard to keep track of, so every Monday I’ll recap the best and most interesting of what’s coming up. I’ll be sure to give you one essential pick for each night, as well as a runner up or two when a lot of great bands are playing. Also, lots of artists performing on TV have upcoming shows in Nashville, so I’ve added ticket links and dates below.

Here are the best performances I think you should set your DVR (or check Hulu the next day) for:

MONDAY (4/1)

DON’T MISSVacationer on Last Call with Carson Daly [NBC; 1:35AM/12:35c]Vacationer is fronted by Kenny Vasoli of pop punk group The Starting Line, but, unless you recognize his voice, you’d never guess. The band’s layered, laid back, textured indie pop is a gorgeous, dreamy, summery escape. Don’t sleep on their debut album Gone.

Check out the band performing “Be With You” for Audiotree Live:

Bonus: Janelle Monae on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon [NBC; 12:35AM/11:35c]Before appearing on fun.’s (who, at the time, were much less known than her) breakout hit “We Are Young,” Janelle Monae released an incredible record called The ArchAndroid. Here’s hoping for a followup soon!

Bonus: Demi Lovato on Jimmy Kimmel Live! [ABC; 11:35PM/10:35c]Demi Lovato might be most associated with Disney, The X Factor, and her Top 40 pop persona, but the fact of the matter is homegirl can siiiing. Her new electro-pop single gives me a lot of hop for significant artisitc growth on the forthcoming DEMI.

Cold War Kids – Bonnaroo Review

In the middle of the blazing sun on Sunday (June 12), the Cold War Kids put on quite a performance in This Tent at Bonnaroo 2011. I had some videos from the show, but my video prowess is not up to the levels of others. See some pretty good quality videos from the show below.

The Final Day at Bonnaroo

The final day of Bonnaroo, and I was able to check out The Head & The Heart, Smith Westerns, Fences, Ryan Bingham, Nicole Atkins & The Black Sea, Neon Trees, Black Dub, The White Buffalo, Beirut, Cold War Kids, and the Superjam (Dr. John and Dan Auerbach w/ a guest appearance by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band).  The highlights were Fences, Neon Trees, and The White Buffalo, and, of course, that Superjam was awesome.

I have hundreds of photos and video clips.  I’ll try to start posting some of my favorites tomorrow.  For right now though, I seriously need some sleep.
