[TICKET GIVEAWAY] Flint Eastwood w/ Nydge | Feb. 8 @ The High Watt

FlintEastwood2018-620

Since first erupting to broader recognition last year with third EP and Neon Gold debut Broke Royalty, then absolutely blowing us away at Bonnaroo, Detroit indie pop/rock up and comer Flint Eastwood has been a buzzy artist we’ve had a watchful eye on, and one we’re thrilled to see coming soon to Nashville, for a Feb. 8 show at The High Watt with fellow Detroit native and synthpop producer/writer Nydge. A powerful, raucous, and uncontainable live force, Flint Eastwood’s anthemic, pop-primed sound is best experienced in person, and if you want to catch her while she’s still playing small spaces, tickets are available right here. We’re also excited to announce that we’re giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan, so if you’d rather leave it to chance, read on for more about the show and enter for a chance to win below!

FLINT EASTWOOD

The indie pop alias of musician Jax Anderson, Detroit’s Flint Eastwood is a bombastic, confident, and flourishing musical badass, informed by a music-filled childhood, strengthened by hardships and the enduring spirit of one of the nation’s toughest cities, and forged after time spent in rural Georgia and Los Angeles, performing in bands and sowing the seeds of what would come to artistically define Flint Eastwood. After two self-released introductory EPs, 2013’s Late Nights in Bolo Ties and 2015’s incredibly personal Small Victories, Anderson, a fiercely DIY artist who writes, performs, directs, and designs everything for the project, and who co-founded collaborative Detroit art space Assemble Sound, inked a deal with buzzy label Neon Gold, and debuted her first EP for the label and third overall, Broke Royalty, last spring to critical acclaim. Though still an artist on the rise, Flint Eastwood has fast been gaining buzz, already having shared the stage with the likes of Mayer Hawthorne and Betty Who, and made appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and more. It was at ‘Roo, in fact, that we first caught her in action, not only with a bombastic solo set, but as part of an exciting SuperJam, where she performed with Jon Batiste and Chance the Rapper, practically stealing the show every time she stepped on stage. Flint Eastwood is the real deal, and her energy and intense, genre-bending pop and rock stylings will be absolutely incredible at an intimate spot like The High Watt. Don’t miss out!

NYDGE

Also a resident of Detroit, Nydge is the musical alias of Nigel Van Hemmye, a resident producer at Flint Eastwood’s co-founded Assemble Sound art space. Largely operating in the electronic sphere, the relative newcomer’s synthpop sound is insanely catchy, and fuses his well-honed production chops and collaborative ethos to explore an exciting range of teamups with other great indie artists. With his direct connections to Flint Eastwood, Nydge is not just a personal good fit to open things up, but a musically complimentary one as well. Show up early!
