Don’t Miss YelaWolf w/ Hillbilly Casino & DJ Klever | TONIGHT @ Marathon Music Works

As we told you awhile back, buzzworthy local-ish rapper YelaWolf, who just rocked Marathon Music Works with a sold out show back in December, will return to the local venue in support of his new LP, Love StoryTONIGHT, June 26, along with Hillbilly Casino and DJ Klever! Of the most eclectic, enigmatic figures in modern hip hop, Yela’s live show is always a blast, and you can still grab tickets here, and find out more below!

Back in April, parttime Nashville resident YelaWolf dropped his long-awaited new album, Love Story, the followup to 2011’s explosive Radioactive. Employing the help of some friends and heavy hitters like Eminem and Travis Barker, Yela, who combines a southern rap flow and polished technical expertise with elements of rock, blues, and even country, all enhanced by eclectic backing players he’s recruited in Nashville, culminating in a voice as style as unique, complicated, and conflicted as his own upbringing. Fiercely southern, though progressive in his social stances, YelaWolf is a rapper poised to breakthrough on a truly mainstream level any minute now, and, if this show is half as rowdy as the one six months ago, you’ll see why tonight.

A testament to YelaWolf’s diverse taste and love for rock music, Nashville’s Hillbilly Casino serve as direct support, with their straight up, punk-tinged rockabilly sound. While their bombastic style and complete lack of hip hop influence might throw some of the hardcore (or new) YelaWolf fans, their live show is unreal, and we hope their presence helps expand a few attendees’ tastes.

Since early last year, DJ Klever has severed as YelaWolf’s touring DJ. Hailing from Atlanta, he celebrates turntablism at its purist, spinning vinyl and using old school techniques in his critically lauded, technically unparalleled style.

YelaWolf, Hillbilly Casino, & DJ Klever will perform tonight, June 26 at Marathon Music Works. The show is 18+, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available for $22-99.
