This long-time electro-funk-punk-dance band are well known for their explosive live shows. Totally danceable beats with punk and funk and a little pop sprinkled over the top. How could a festival NOT have some of that? !!! have four full length LP’s. The first dating back to 2001, and the most recent pressed in late 2010. This California, New York, Oregon based quartet (they typically tour with seven) has been lighting up festivals and venues across the globe since the beginning. They do have some connection to the Music City though, they recorded their 2007 record Myth Takes in Nashville.
Of course, the most interesting thing about them is their name. chk, chk, chk? pow, pow, pow? whatever? whatever? whatever? Rumor has it the name is inspired by the subtitles from the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy.
Anyway, you can chk, chk, chk them out at Bonnaroo at the Sonic Stage on Saturday June 11th from 3:45 to 4:15 pm.
If you can’t catch them there, they are reportedly (by The Nashville Scene) playing at Nashville’s The End on June 10th. Not exactly sure how to get tickets for that one, but I’ll keep you posted.
A couple of tracks are listed below. There is also a link to their Coachella performance “Must Be The Moon”, as well as, a link to a La Blogotheque TakeAway Show.
